How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the CURT Echo wireless brake controller on our 2022 Nissan Armada. The CURT Echo wireless brake controller is gonna be your easiest option to add brakes to the back of your vehicle. It is just an all-in-one unit that is a proportional brake controller. It's the same internals as the Echo Under-Dash and In-Line brake controller as far as how it recognizes your speed and braking and transfers that to your brakes, and the same proportions. I prefer the In-Line wired ones because it doesn't create an additional portion hanging off of your plugin on the back. But it is one of the easiest ways to get brakes and it is gonna be able to control up to two axles for your electric brakes. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing RED ARC Tow Pro Liberty brake controller on a 2019 Nissan Armada. The Armada has a pretty heavy duty towing capacity. And with that and with heavier trailers generally you're gonna have trailer brakes associated with it and it's just gonna make your towing experience a lot better. You can control that swaying trailer if it's improperly loaded or just coming to a stop, it's gonna slow that trailer down and keep it from pushing the vehicle around. Your typical brake controller, you've probably seen them kind of living under here in the dash area and you've probably smacked your knees on them before as they do take up a decent amount of area. And a lot of 'em will have digital readouts and your manual slide. more

So all you really need is a working seven pole to make this Curt Echo work. All you got to do is plug it in, plug your trailer into it, and then sync it up to your phone. It is a plastic casing, but it is waterproof, so you don't have to worry about the elements messing with it when you're going down the road. Today on our 2017 Nissan Frontier, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller in conjunction with the Tekonsha plugin wiring adapter for electric brake controllers for Nissan and Infiniti. My favorite thing about the P3 brake controller is how many settings it's going to have. What I mean by that is if you hold down this button for a couple seconds, you can actually set pre-programmed settings for five different trailers. That way if you tow a rather large trailer one day, you can set it and save it as one trailer and then if you tell a smaller trailer and the next day you can simply go on your menu and click that trailer and go to those settings.Now, another cool feature I like about this is that it's going to give us three boost settings. Now what the boost setting does is controls how aggressive your trailer brakes are applied. more

Today on our 2016 Nissan Pathfinder, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller.What I really like about this brake controller is that it's going to be proportional. Now, what that means is however hard you apply the brakes inside of your vehicle, the trailer brakes are going to match that. So the trailer is going to slow itself down and you're not going to have to worry about your car doing all the work. And, in my opinion, the proportional brake controller like we have here today is a much better choice than, say, a time-delay style brake controller, and that's because the time-delay brake controller is not going to match how hard you apply the brake pedal in your car. It's going to apply the brakes at a specified amount and then ramp up from there. more

Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Nissan NV 2500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Nissan NV2500 we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller for one to four axles. Now it's going to be Part Number HM47295. To help us get it installed we're gong to be using the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, Part Number ETBC7, along with 10 feet of extra wire, Part Number ETBCXW.Here's what a brake controller looks like once we have it installed. This is the near proportional brake controller, which means that it's going to apply the brakes at the same time and intensity to our trailer as when we push on the brakes in our Nissan. It's going to be a big benefit over those time delay brake controllers because it's going to have an internal inertia sensor that's going to detect the deceleration or the slowing down of our Nissan and apply the brakes accordingly, wherein a time delay brake controller has a pre-set number and time that it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer.So this is going to be able to accommodate those different hills, different driving conditions, where the time delay one is going to be a pre-set braking amount, no matter how heavy the trailer is or the road conditions.The only stipulation how we're going to mount our brake control is it has to be on a level plane and that it's facing the direction of travel that we're going, so the bottom of the dash is a really easy spot to mount it. We can still see the display and reach the manual override very easily.The manual override is going to be a button, so we can just squeeze and we can see that the numbers are going to show up on the display, and it's going to go from zero all the way up to 99, and that's going to be a percentage of how much power is going to our trailer brakes.On the top here we're going to have our gain setting, which will go all the way up to 99 and all the way down in increments of five down to 5%. more

With the boost setting it's going to make it extremely easy to use.It is a proportional brake controller which means it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer at the same time and intensity that we apply the brakes on our truck. Our Primus IQ is going to have an automatic level adjuster in there and so once we have it mounted and it's within the range specified, we're not going to have to do anything else besides set our power output. more

A Voyager's not gonna have all the same features as some of the other proportional brake controllers, but it is gonna get the job done.It's gonna be an extremely simple and easy to use design. Over here on the right-hand side, we're gonna have our power output that we can adjust up and down for the maximum power that are gonna be applied to our brakes. And just like most brake controllers, we are gonna have the manual override in case our trailer starts to sway from going down a hill or any situation where we need brakes on our trailer and not on our truck.The nice thing about the simplicity of our Voyager is we're gonna one LED light. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Nissan Xterra- Video
Today on our 2011 Nissan Xterra we're going to be taking a look at the Teknosha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller for one to three axles, part number TK90160 and we'll be using this in conjunction with the Tekonsha plugin wiring adapter for brake controllers for Nissans, part number 3050-P. Here's what this brake controller looks like once it's installed in the vehicle. This brake controller is going to do a good job of giving us power to our brakes on our trailer that's behind us. This one, we don't currently have it connected to a trailer so if we hit the manual override, you'll see it shows NC for no connection, but when connected it'll show you the power output that it's putting through to a trailer. Here on the side we've got this turn dial to adjust your gain level for the amount of power being sent back to the brakes on your trailer. Here on the top we've got this blue button and that's going to let you go through to your three boost levels so that you can adjust the amount of boost that's going to go back to the trailer brakes. This brake controller is nice and easy to use and it's going to do a great job of providing proportional braking power to the brakes on your trailer and it does that by the inertia sensor that it has inside. You're able to mount it from zero degrees all the way up to 90 degrees in the vertical plane. What I like most about this brake controller is how easy it is to use and operate because it's as simple as setting it and if you want to set a boost level, you can do that. more

What's nice about this brake controller is it's nice, simple to use, there aren't a lot of complicated buttons. You've got your manual override switch and your gain, so you can set it. Today on our 2016 Nissan Frontier we will be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part number 90885. To help us out with our install, we will also be installing the Tekonsha Wiring Adapter for Nissan vehicles, part number 3050-P. In order to test it out what we need to do is hook up our trailer which is what you'll be doing if you're watching this at home. In our case we happen to have a tester that simulates a trailer load so we've got that plugged in. As you can see, we now have a C instead of a NC for connection because we do have a trailer connection back there. We're able to do our manual override and see the output that it's giving to our trailer. We're also able to adjust our gain here as you can see. more

Today on our 2016 Nissan Frontier, we will be taking a look at the Tekonsha Power Track Electronic Brake Controller, for 1 to 2 axles. This is a time delayed brake controller, its part number, 39523. To help us out with our installation today, we will be using the Tekonsha Wiring Adapter, part number 3050-P. Now that we have it in place, we can go ahead and test it out. The knob here is going to operate our gain. This light is adjustable, so depending on the level of gain, you're going to get a more or a less intense red out of that LED, all the way up to the end where we're going to get a solid red. As you can see, stepping on our brake pedal as well, it sends a signal back to our trailer. more

Today, on our 2014 Nissan Frontier, we're going to install the Curt Venturer Brake Controller with Direct-fit Wiring Harness, Part #C51110 and C51382. Here's what our brake controller will look like once it's installed. If we hit the pedal or the manual sweep on the brake controller, you can see it lights up, and we have power to our brake controller. Then we can go ahead and plug in our trailer. You can see as power increases to the trailer braking, the bar goes up on our display. We can do that with the foot pedal or the manual slide. Here, on the top of the brake controller, is a slide switch that will allow you to increase or decrease the power going to your trailer braking. more

Today on this 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, we're going to show you part number 90885. This is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller. To help us out with our install, we'll also be using an adapter cord, part number 3050-P. This is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for electric brake controllers for Nissan and Infinity. This is what the brake controller looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. This is a typical location, but you can go ahead and install it in any location you like. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2004 Nissan Titan- Video
All right, today on our 2004 Nissan Titan, we're going to install part number 90195 from Tekonsha. It's the P3 Brake Controller. Now this truck does come with a tow package already installed on the vehicle however, this model's an XE model. This port is different from the other Titan models and the plug-in for it is not readily available. So, we're going to bypass the port and go ahead and hard-wire our brake controller in. First off we need to get access to the port. It'll be behind a kick panel right next to the parking brake. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2009 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2009 Nissan Murano, we'll be installing the eTrailer Universal Brake Controller Install Kit, part number ETBC7. We'll be doing this in conjunction with the Tekonsha Voyager Prodigy Brake Controller, part number 39510. To start, we'll first go ahead an assemble the 7 pole adapter bracket. With the hardware provided, we'll use it to attach the bracket to the 7 pole adapter. We'll go ahead and take the bracket, feed it over the wires and up to the back of the mounting surface for the 7 pole adapter. Then we'll take the screws, feed them through the front side of the 7 pole, and secure it with the nuts on the back side. Once we have all 4 in place, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2008 Nissan Titan 90195- Video
All right today on this 2008 Nissan Titan we're going to install part number 90195. This is a Tekonsha T3 trailer brake controller. We'll also be using an adapter cord, part number 3050-P. This will connect to the factory tow package port underneath the dash. We'll start with this part first. First we need to locate the port underneath the dash. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2001 Nissan Xterra- Video
Today on this 2001 Nissan Xterra we're going to install part number 90195 from Tekonsha, the P3 brake controller. To install our brake controller we're also going to use part number ETBC7 to install it, and we're going to work with that part number first. We're going to take the seven pole adapter and connect that to the gray cable in the kit. We'll use the butt connector to make our connections, and we'll use the color code as follows: We're going to go black to black, and white to blue. Our black wire will be used for our 12 volt power supply going out to the seven pole connector, and our blue wire will be our brake controller output. Now that blue wire is going to change from blue to white and then it will go back to blue eventually at the brake controller. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Nissan Pathfinder 39510- Video
Today on this 2011 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to install part number 39510 from Tekonsha. This is the Voyager trailer brake controller. This vehicle has already been equipped with a 4-pole wiring packaging from the factory. To add our brake controller and connector, we're basically going to just fill in the blanks. We're going to start off underneath the dash. We're going to locate the tow package port underneath the dashboard which is going to be just right of the steering wheel, behind the dash, and also a little bit above the diagnostic port. We'll go ahead and take the adapter cord and plug it into the brake controller, and then we'll go ahead and plug it into the port underneath the dash. The part number for our adapter cord will be3050-P. more
